Hi everyone!  I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Something pretty exciting happened to me last Friday night!  The Indiana Pacers basketball organization selected me to receive an Indiana Heroes Award for my positive brain injury prevention advocacy, my inspirational speaking presentations, and my role in providing testimony as the only unbuckled backseat survivor in a fatal car crash for Indiana's new seatbelt law, which requires seatbelt usage in every position of a vehicle.  Travis Diener was the Pacer that presented me my medal - pictures will be forthcoming.

Needless to say, it was pretty exciting and humbling to be standing out on the Pacer's center court with the crowd cheering and clapping.  One of the "treats" that just so happened this night was that there were several Colts players at the game.  I had the privilege to shake hands with Pro Bowl safety Bob Sanders, Gary Brackett, and a couple other players.   Bob even told me Congratulations.  How exicting was that!

Next, would you help me with a fellow Toastmater's request?  He is from Syndey, Austrailia, and is asking folks to help in the fight against the slaughter of whales.  It's really easy to do.  All that is needed is to go to the website, www.whalesrevenge.com.  There is place for you to put your full name, city, and country, on the right side of the page.  No e-mail addresses, no other information requested.  I signed it recently and would ask if you would do the same.  A million signatures are being gathered, and it's almost there!  Thanks for your help!

Come back to my website to see the pictures from the Pacer game.  They will be forthcoming!  I hope your New Year has gotten off to a great start just like mine!

Make it a good day,
Darcy

P.S.  Stay tuned for some upcoming inspirational articles which I will start on my blog in the next few months.  They will get you thinking.
